Bruce Kennedy Morrisseau was an Ojibwe artist born May 9, 1965, in Beardmore, Ontario. He was the second eldest son of Bernard Morrisseau, brother of the artist Norval Morrisseau, making Norval his uncle. Bruce worked in the Woodland style of painting.
Morrisseau grew up in Beardmore and lived in Thunder Bay before settling in Vancouver, British Columbia, in his early twenties, where he spent most of his adult life. He was involved with Luke 15 House in Surrey, BC, where he mentored young people by sharing his experiences, participating in sweat lodge ceremonies, and teaching Indigenous culture. His work is held in private collections. He died on December 17, 2019, in Thunder Bay.
