Naqsaqtu Joe Pee is an Inuk artist from Kinngait (formerly Cape Dorset), Nunavut. He began carving in the 1980s, learning from his father, the carver Nuyaliaq Pee. His work is primarily focused on soapstone carving, and his subjects are drawn from Arctic wildlife and traditional Inuit life.
Naqsaqtu is known for his depictions of animals, particularly his stylized and dynamic portrayals of caribou and transformations. His sculptures are characterized by their strong sense of movement, simplified forms, and often a humorous or narrative quality. His work has been included in exhibitions in Canada, the United States, and Europe, and is held in the collections of galleries such as the Winnipeg Art Gallery-Qaumajuq.
